Barcode or Paper
In most instances, DVU recommends setting the mode to Barcode instead of Paper. This setting provides warehouse managers with a greater degree of flexibility.
If the DVU user sets the warehouse mode to Barcode, it is possible to enable Paper mode at the account level (by unchecking the Barcode Scanning box on the Receiving, Shipping, and Work Orders pages), which will override the default warehouse setting.
However, if the DVU user sets the warehouse mode to Paper, the platform automatically greys out some fields or functions on some Accounts pages. These fields remain inaccessible even if Barcode Scanning is enabled on account pages.
The Paper mode option is better suited for warehouse environments that will never use or adopt barcode scanning technology in the future.
