Open this page to add labels to pre-defined fields on the General page of shipping, receiving, work order, and transportation templates. When a field has a label, the platform activates the field, which means DVU users can input data (activated fields are white and closed fields are grey).
Note Adding a label creates an open field, but data input is optional. To create a required field (i.e. a field must have a value to complete a shipping, receiving. or work order task), DVU users must configure settings on a different page. Learn more.
Enabling the fields
To add a label and activate a field:
-
Go to Home > Business Partners > Accounts.
-
Open an account and click Pre Defined on the side menu.
-
Choose an order section (i.e. shipping, receiving, work orders, or transportation) and enter a label for a field.
-
Repeat as required.
-
Click Save Partner.
Adding values
Open a template page and go to the User Defined Values section of the General page. Locate an open field and enter a value. Fields that do not have a label are closed.
Potential error
Occasionally, DVU users may see an open field with no label. This situation usually occurs when the user clicks a field on the Pre Defined page and hits the space bar. To fix this problem, click that field on the Pre Defined page and hit the Back button.
