By default, each new work order comes with a blank Order Number field. Entering a work order is recommended time-saving feature, especially for busy warehouse-terminals that use barcode scanning for cycle counts.
There are two ways to enter order numbers: manual and automatic.
Manual

Select a work order.
-
Click Edit and enter a value.
-
Click Save.
Automatic
Enabling auto-generated order numbers is a two-step process.
First, create a sequence.
-
Go to Home > Settings > Sequences.
-
Click the plus
icon to create a new sequence.
In the popup window:
-
Add a unique sequence name (e.g. WO for work order).
-
Enter a value (e.g. 1).
-
Select User Defined.
-
Click Save.
Next, open the Work Order page for an account.
-
Go to Home > Business Partners > Accounts.
-
Select an account name and click the Edit icon.
-
Click Work Orders on the side menu.
-
Check the box to enable Auto Generate Work Order Number.
-
Enter the work order sequence code (from the above sequence step).
-
Click Save.
Create a test work order
