This article shows DVU users how to verify the results of a cartonization task.
Scenario 1
The DVU user had a shipping order with five line items and two different item codes. The user created a cartonization rule to group the stock by item code, lot code, and sublot code so that each carton would have one type of item.
The DVU user can verify the results on the shipping order template. In this example, the side menu shows 18 pick tickets and 18 packed cartons.
The screenshot below shows one pick ticket number plus the item code, lot code, sublot code, and planned quantity. In this example, the carton contains a single item type. A review of other pick tickets confirms the same result.
DVU users can also print a carton label. The screenshot below of the carton label for the above pick ticket shows 29 pieces.
Scenario 2
This scenario uses the same baseline conditions and inventory mix as above, with one difference: the DVU user creates a rule to cartonize mixed cartons.
The results are in the screenshot below. The cartonization task with a Mixed inventory rule generated 16 pick tickets and cartons (compared to 18 in the above exampel).
The screenshot below of the carton label shows 47 pieces (two item codes) for the above pick ticket.
