DVU users can add a power unit, chassis, and other equipment (e.g. trailer or container) to a shipment/load. Users can select an option from a drop-down menu or create a new record.
Note It is not possible to add a driver or equipment to a pending quote. In most cases, a broker prepares a quote and hires a carrier to provide the shipment service. The carrier, and not the broker, is responsible for the driver and equipment.
The Advanced page has a separate drop-down menu for each field, plus menu icons that give DVU users three options:
-
add a piece of equipment
-
edit equipment information
-
search for a piece of equipment
Note The add, edit, or search workflow is the same for each field (Driver, Power Unit, etc.). Below, the guide describes how to manage power unit options. Follow the same steps to manage other fields.
