Open this page to enable charge codes that apply automatically during each billing period for captured inventory.
Before you start
All of the charge codes that DVU users might enable on this page come from the Charge Codes page or Storage Charges page. DVU users can create codes on those before or while configuring the Default Billing page.
-
Any renewable storage charge code that a DVU user creates on the Default Billing page also appears on the Storage Charges page.
-
Any inbound or outbound handling charge code that a DVU user creates on the Default Billing page also appears on the Charge Codes page.
If a user enables renewable storage charge codes on the Default Billing page be sure to set the Renewable Storage Mode (e.g. daily rate, anniversary days, peak, average, etc.) on the Billing page.
Note The type of charge that a user enables on the Default Billing page must align with the Renewable Storage Mode on the Billing page.
Opening the page
-
Go to Home > Business Partners > Accounts.
-
Open an account (or create a new account).
-
Click Default Billing on the side menu.
-
At the top of the page, click the Warehouse field and select an option.
Applying a code
Scroll through the list, click a field, and select an option on the drop-down menu.
-
If the line item has Renewal Storage, the drop-down menu displays options from the Storage Charges page.
-
The other line items (outbound and inbound handling) display options from the Charge Codes page.
Caution Do not assign charge codes to any row that mentions pallet. These fields are under development. DVU does support pallet billing using a different method.
Creating a code
DVU users can create a charge code on the Default Billing page. Depending on the code type, DVU saves the code to the Charge Codes page or Storage Charges page.
-
Select a table row.
-
Click the plus
icon.
-
Fill in the required fields.
-
Add information as needed.
-
Click Save.
Inbound and outbound charge code options
The list of options on the Type drop-down menu depends on the warehouse activity (i.e. inbound or outbound). The number and type of data fields on the form vary with the Type selection.
Renewal storage
The number and type of data fields on the form vary with the Type selection.

Applying a renewable storage charge for pallets
Here is a tip to help DVU users apply a daily rate for pallet storage. The daily rate calculation uses UOMs (units of measurement) to calculate charges. Currently, the list of UOM options does not include pallets.
Here are two workarounds.
Option 1
The first option is to create a renewable storage charge code with the Type set to LPN or equivalent. Next, enable that charge code for the Each and Case renewal storage rows on the Default Billing page.
-
Be sure to set a rate appropriate for a daily charge and set the Renewable Storage Mode on the Billing page to Daily Rate.
Option 2
Another workaround is to create a charge code based on the number of locations with an LPN or equivalent. Next, enable that charge code for the Each and Case renewal storage rows on the Default Billing page.
-
This is not a daily rate. Instead, the platform counts the number of occupied locations on the billing day, so set a rate appropriate for this billing method.
-
Be sure to set the Renewable Storage Mode on the Billing page to Occupied Locations.
