This article shows DVU users how to pick and ship (via LTL or FTL) an order with a pre-packed item using the Batch Print tool.
-
This is a variation of the workflow described in the Ship a Packed Order (Packed Cartons) article and offers a time-saving feature. In one click, DVU auto-generates pick tickets, prints a shipping label for each carton, and marks cartons as packed.
Use case scenario
In a warehouse with a barcode scanning environment, pick and ship a single pre-packed carton.
Picking the order
-
Open a shipping order (or create a shipping order).
-
Set the status to In Process.
-
Close the order and go back to the Shipping Orders main page.
-
Select the table row with the order.
-
Click the ellipsis and select Batch Print.
-
In the popup window, select the documents required for the order and a printer. In this example, we select Shipping Labels. Click Print.
-
DVU prints the required documents or labels.
-
Open the shipping order. DVU automatically created entries for a pick ticket and packed carton.
Picking the order
-
Go to the warehouse floor and pick the order.
-
Open the shipping order on DVU.
-
Click Packed Cartons on the side menu.
DVU automatically moves the order to the right side of the table, which indicates the carton is packed.
Pack the order (if required) and affix labels.
Staging
Move the carton(s) to the staging area, scan the location, and then change the status of the order on the DVU to Shipped.
