This article shows DVU users how to pick and pack an order using the Packed Cartons tool and then ship it via LTL. This workflow is different from other shipping tools, such as Small Parcel service, Scan Pack, and cartonization but similar to this option which uses the batch print tool.
Use case scenario
In a warehouse with a barcode scanning environment, pick and ship a single pre-packed carton. This option could be adapted for orders that ship a pallet of cartons where each carton needs a separate shipping label.
Picking the order
-
Open a shipping order (or create a shipping order) and set the status to In Process.
-
Go to the warehouse floor and pick the order with the RF scanner. (see below)
-
Open the shipping order on DVU.
-
Click Packed Cartons on the side menu.
Creating a carton
On the new page:
-
Click the plus
icon to select a carton.
-
In the popup window, enter a carton size.
-
Enter the carton weight (listed on the below line).
Packing the order
Highlight the row(s) and click the Pack button.
DVU moves the item(s) to the table on the right side of the screen.
Click Save and select printer options.
Pack the order (if required). Print and affix labels.
Staging
Move the carton to the staging area, scan the location, and then change the status of the order on the DVU UI to Shipped.
