This article shows DVU users how to create a receiving order with the system set for Paper mode.

Go to Home > Orders > Receiving Orders.

On the main page, click the plus
icon.

Select Create New Receipt.

Filling in the fields

On the General page, select an Account. (required)

Enter an Order Number. (optional but recommended).

Click Save to create a unique transaction number.

Check the box if this order is a return.

Fill in other fields as needed.

Click Save.
Adding inventory
Click Line Entries on the side menu.

Click the plus
icon to add an item to the order.

In the side panel, enter an Item Code. (required) Optionally, click the plus
icon to create a new item.

Fill in the Qty Planned and Qty Received fields. (see below)

Select a storage location. (required)

Set the inventory status. (required)

Enter additional information as needed.

Click Insert or Insert and New.
Qty Planned and Qty Received
In Paper-based mode, the DVU user must fill in the Quantity (Qty) Planned field. Optionally, the user can also fill in the Qty Received field. This optional step allows the user to create the order and receive the inventory at the same time.
The other option is to create the order and leave the Qty Received field blank. When the warehouse receives the inventory, the DVU user goes to the UI, opens the receiving order, and fills in the Qty Received field, and changes the order status (e.g. Closed, Scheduled Post, etc.).
Managing a record
DVU adds the record to the Line Entries table.

To edit an item, click a table row (changes to blue) and update information in the form.

To remove an item, click the Delete icon and click Ok in the confirmation popup window.
Other items
Depending on local circumstances, DVU users can improve the order by adding or verifying information. Click a link on the side menu to open any of the below pages.

Appointment - Set a time period to receive the delivery. Optionally, DVU users can assign a dock door.

Cross Dock - Prepare incoming inventory for an outbound shipment. Learn more.

Charge Codes - Review and edit charge codes for this order. Input values for Manual charge codes.
Note To add or remove charge codes, open the Accounts > Charge Codes page and modify the charge codes assigned to Receiving. Learn more.

Documents - Upload documents or images.

Notes - Create time-stamped notes and messages.

Source Data - Under development.

Event History - View a log of actions related to this record.

Event Management - Timestamp events between the driver in the yard and driver out.
