All items should be configured with accurate dimensions, weights, and palletization information (if applicable).
Every item that moves to and through the warehouse has a Unit of Measure (UOM). A quantity of one each in DVU is the smallest unit that warehouse staff handle or customers purchase.
-
A case is the primary carton. It contains one or more eaches or inner packs.
-
An inner pack is a smaller carton inside a case. An inner pack contains its own quantities. Cases and inner packs contain more than one each.
-
WDG recommends keeping items in their true UOM. For example, a case of 24 should be created as a CS:24 even though it may never be broken.
