Inventory Adjust (UI)

Use this tool to adjust the quantity in a location. DVU users can also adjust inventory status (see caution below). 

Opening the side panel

1. Open the Inventory Detail page.

2. Select an item and click the Inventory Adjust icon in the toolbar. A side panel displays.

Adjusting inventory

In the side panel:

1. Enter a new quantity.

2. Click the Exception field and select an option. (optional)

3. Add a note. (optional)

4. Click Save.

DVU updates the table.

Adjusting status caution

It is possible to adjust inventory status with the Inventory Adjust tool, but DVU users should exercise caution. When the user changes the status of a quantity, the platform adds the quantity to the table but does not subtract from it.

For example, in the screenshot below, the user wants to change the status of 10 eaches from Available to Hold.

After saving the changes, the table adds 10 to the Hold column but does not change the original quantity in the Available column. The result is an inaccurate inventory count.

To fix this problem:

• Select the same row and adjust the Available quantity (changed from 39 to 29).

To avoid this problem:

• Use the Change Status tool instead of Inventory Adjust to change the status of inventory.
