After DVU deployment and onboarding, Admin users can configure platform settings to meet the evolving needs of their business. These settings can be grouped into two categories: baseline and standard.
Baseline settings (set on the Accounts template) control user access and define the foundation of warehouse management. Admin users decide who can access the platform (and feature-specific permissions) and how inventory moves to and through the warehouse.
An account in DVU is defined as a party that owns inventory or equipment and hires outside agents to provide warehouse-terminal or transport services. Depending on the local business environment, DVU users could create and manage multiple accounts on the platform. To manage account details, go to Home > Business Partners > Accounts.
Standard settings are catch-all category for all the other platform features. The features available to Admins users will vary with the type of DVU subscription and the baseline configurations.
Baseline Features
Admin users should review and configure the following when creating a new account in DVU:
Users and user groups
DVU users can access the platform with login credentials and have permission to access a set range of features. Admins grant permissions by assigning a user to a specific user group.
Account-level settings
Review and customize essential settings on these Accounts template pages:
1 Properties: Create an account and add profile information.
2 General Properties: Set the Inventory allocation mode. The default is automatic allocation. DVU admins must select Manual allocation if barcode scanning is enabled on the account.
3 Inventory: Go to the Allocation Mode field and choose an option. Users must select Pick 1, Pick 2, or Forward Picking if the platform is configured for storage location replenishment.
4 Receiving: Check the Barcode Scanning box if floor staff use RF scanners to receive account inventory.
5 Shipping: Check the Barcode Scanning box if floor staff use RF scanners to ship account inventory.
