A move is a transport job with two unique features. Moves normally reposition equipment (e.g. tractor, trailer, or container) instead of inventory or freight. Plus, the final destination doesn’t normally involve the equipment owner (i.e. return a container to a port to avoid demurrage charges) or a consumer, buyer, or supplier (e.g. delivery or pick up).
Workflow
The diagram below shows the minimum number of steps in the Moves workflow. The level of detail required at each step (e.g. the number of data fields to fill in) varies with the customer’s environment (e.g. managed or unmanaged freight) and commitment to best practices.
