Once an appointment is created and orders are assigned against the appointment, the user can begin the scheduled appointment process by following the steps mentioned below.
As a Note, if the driver arrives during off hours, he/she can call the point of contact, whom can view which Dock Doors, Yard Locations and assign the driver the correct Reserve Location.
- Navigate to Home > Yard > Yard Locations
- This screen will display all the unoccupied locations highlighted in green. When a location is occupied, the highlight will change to red. Click on the [ß] In Gate button. Select ‘With appointment’. Note: YMS requires appointment creation.
- Click on the ‘Refresh’ button. This will display all the appointments created. Here is where adding the suggested special instructions will be helpful in identifying which trailer/truck is incoming in the warehouse yard. Select the appropriate appointment and select the yard location where it will be coming in at. Hit ‘Save’.
- On saving, the location will be highlighted red and will display the appointment information. It also registers the date time stamp the trailer/truck entered, under in gate column.
- DVU also offers the ‘Relocate’ function should you have to move the location of the trailer/truck. This also updates the date time stamp with the new location as displayed below.
- The user will then begin the unloading/loading process. During receiving, if the trailer/truck is unloaded and is leaving the warehouse facility before the receiving is completed in DVU, the user will be prompted with the following message displayed below when attempting to out gate.
- Once the trailer/truck is moved out from the location, the highlight will change back to green and display the latest date time stamp of the last appointment in that location:
- The user can validate the date time stamps at the order level under the ‘Event Management’ tab as displayed below:
