General
-
Allocation Mode - Click the field and select an option. FIFO/FEFO/LIFO are common. Location Ascending and Location Descending force DVU to find a pick location by alphanumeric order (A to Z) or reverse alphanumeric order (Z to A). Choose Pick to clean to force DVU to prioritize pick locations that can be emptied by fulfilling a pick ticket (ideally used irregularly and not for day-to-day use). Commonly used in a wholesale environment, Largest Exact Qty Pallet prioritizes locations with a pickable quantity on a pallet that closely matches the pick ticket quantity, thereby minimizing the amount of staff time required to pick an order. If the DVU user configures the account to automate storage location replenishment, select Pick 1, Pick 2, or Forward Picking.

-
Break Larger UOM for Smaller UOM Allocation - If eaches are required and are not in inventory, the system directs staff to pick from the case UOM. This looks at pickable quantities in the warehouse for larger UOMs. If there is not enough pickable inventory to fulfill the line entry, the system iterates through UOMs (from largest to smallest) until the ordered quantity can be fulfilled. Automatic allocation does not handle auto lot sublot selection. Lots and sublots must match the ordered lot and sublot.
-
Automatically Allocate Largest UOM - If enabled, the system fulfills orders by selecting the largest UOM first (e.g. a case) and then allocating to smaller UOMs (e.g. eaches). For example, if the user has an order for 15 items and the inventor mix consists of five eaches and one CS:12, the system directs staff to pick the case and plus 3 eaches.
-
Track Actual Inventory Weight - Enabled while using cubiscan, else will consider the weight mentioned at the item level.
-
Track Advanced Inventory Details - Check the box to enable user-defined fields for inventory. (see below)
-

-
User Defined - Extra fields if special characterization is required for inventory. To enable these fields, check the Track Advanced Inventory Details box. Click here to learn more about these fields.
Lot Codes

-
Lot Code Auto Generation - Click the field to enable Julian format (yyddd date, a combination of the current year and the number of days since the beginning of the year) or Serialized (e.g. 2022-01-31).
-
Automatic Lot Allocation Selection - When a lot is blank on an order line, the system auto-selects inventory with lots based on the allocation mode.
-
Automatic Sub Lot Allocation Selection - When a sublot is blank on an order line, the system will auto select inventory with sublots based on the allocation mode.
Aliases
