A previous article showed users how to start, but not complete, a load. This article builds that knowledge. It shows DVU users how to add one or more shipments with a single stop to a load.
Note Click here to learn how to create a load with multiple stops.
Adding a shipment
There are two ways to add a shipment to a load: select an existing shipment or create a new one.
Option 1 Select an existing shipment
Go to the Loads main page, open a record, click Shipments/Stops on the side menu, and then click the plus icon near the Shipments heading.
-
Make sure the Create Auto Stops box is checked. (see below).
-
Click the Refresh button.
-
Locate the shipment(s) for this load in the list.
-
Check the box(es) next to each shipment.
-
Click Save.
Note Davinci summarizes load data (e.g. units, LPNs, weight) at the top of the page.
Results
Davinci displays the Shipments/Stops page. The page shows two shipments and one stop. Davinci recognizes the destination address is the same for each delivery, so it auto-creates one stop.
Option 2 Create a new shipment
DVU users can also create a new shipment on the Loads page.
-
Click the plus
icon near the Shipments heading.
-
Make sure the Create Auto Stops box is checked. (see below).
-
Click the plus
icon and select an option (i.e. Pickups, Deliveries, Moves, or Returns).
-
Complete the shipment template and click Save.
-
Repeat steps to add more shipments with the same destination to the load.
Results
Davinci recognizes that each shipment has the same delivery address and auto-creates one stop with multiple shipments.
