Previous articles showed DVU users how to create loads with a single stop and multiple stops. This article shows users how to create a static route that is akin to a milk run.
DVU users can define theoretical route stops in a unique Loads record and leave the actual number of daily stops and freight description fields (as they might appear on a manifest) blank. Customers can submit daily stop requests and freight descriptions to Davinci if they set up the proper integrations. If integration is not available, DVU users can enter these values manually.
Each working day, the driver prints off a manifest and learns where to stop on the route and what to pick up.
Note Talk to your Davinci account manager to learn how to enable customer integrations.
Creating a route
Go to the Loads main page, and open (or create) a record.
-
Click Shipments/Stops on the side menu.
-
On the next page, click the plus
icon next to the Stops heading to add a blank row to the table.
-
Fill in the fields.
Repeat the steps to add more stops.
Creating unique records
After creating a multi-stop route template, DVU users can reuse the same template for each delivery day.
-
Open a route template.
-
Click the Actions button.
-
Select Copy Shipment.
On the next window, configure the copy settings and click Save.
-
Select the number of copies to make.
-
Choose the fields to copy or select all.
